Almost unbelievable to think our little club can produce eleven players representing Otago on one day! Last Saturday at Rugby Park Invercargill we had four players, Charles Elton, Abraham Pole, Saula Ma’u and Nathan Hastie pictured with the Donald Stuart Memorial Trophy and both Bob Periam ORFU President and Roger Taylor ORFU Board member playing in the opening round of the 2025 NPC.
The other picture is our Seven players who represented the Otago Metropolitan North team comfortably beating Southland Country 38-24 in the Tuppy Diack shield played as the curtain raiser to the main game, the players are from left to right, Ben Fakataha, Boston Hunt, Darius Fidow, Taylor Dale, Gabriel Francesconi , Rique Miln, and Tony Taufa. Going by the performance of our boys on the day it’s only a matter of time before we see more Hawks in the full Otago team!
