Premier 1’s – Preview round 1 Harbour vs Kaikorai

Harbour Rugby Club will have its first competition game this weekend at Bishopscourt.

Harbour has had a huge pre season most definitely the best pre season the club has had in a long time.

The Hawks started the first weekend in February with a beach session down at Aramoana followed with a sausage sizzle and a few beers.

The next big outing was the Gore 7s where the for the first time in four years we entered two teams. Both teams made it to the semi final but ended up playing each other in the semi final. The Hawks prems went on to win the competition for the 6th year in a row.

The next outing was a trial game. This was held at Port Chalmers and teams were split into rough numbers of prems and colts. The Prems ended up taking the game 35-30 in a physical and fun game.

Following this the premiers had Kurow in their sights. This was played at Watson park and the team had plenty of youth destroying Kurow 68-0

Last week the colts had their first outing, coming up against Dunedin Sharkies Prem colts. The colts had their first win EVER over Dunedin prem colts winning the 60 minute battle 17 – 10.

The premiers had a short 40 minute hit out with Zingarei winning the game 36 – 0

The boys have really developed over the past 8 weeks of pre season. And coach Ryan Nicholas is extremely happy with the fitness of the boys and the chemistry and vibe throughout the club.
