Aidan Spence

Premier 1’s – Spence back against Taieri

Aidan Spence has answered a call from coach Ryan Nicholas early this week and will be starting for the Hawks on Saturday. Spence who scored a double in the final last year was an instrumental part of the Hawks success in 2018. He has been quietly training and has been working away in Brisbane, Australia for the past 6 months. Aidan who played his 50th game last year for the Hawks said “I am looking forward to the challenge and putting on the Hawks jersey one more time”

Prop Joji Ravula was outstanding last week and has been a great replacement for Spence but unfortunately received a minor injury to his leg that ruled him out for this week.

Aidan will be up against the Highlanders prop Josh Iosefa-Scott, meanwhile Harbour will welcome Highlanders hooker Ray Niuia
who will be making his Hawks debut.

The Hawks had a brutal first hit out last week against Kaikorai which they came away victors 20-15.

Mone Palu will also be due to make his debut. Mone has been training and playing with the Tongan 7s team has joined the squad also and will be looking at making an impact from the bench.
